Assistant to the parts manager

Cardinal specializes in the design, manufacturing and distribution of equipment used in the sawmill, forestry, recycling, mineral exploration, and mining.

The company also offers a parts sales service for the equipment it manufactures and / or distributes (spare, addition of parts, etc.).

Cardinal Equipment is looking for a dynamic and organized person to fill the position of Assistant to the Parts Manager for its Quebec branch.

Position objective :

Support the parts manager by focusing in particular on handling some customer requests and the shipping and receiving of parts.

Main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Support customer inquiries and orders, by phone and email;
  • Identify the parts required using catalogs or a computerized system;
  • Produce invoices, collect customer payments;
  • Produce documentation for shipping and prepare for shipment of parts;
  • Receive the parts;
  • Maintain inventory;
  • Provide excellent customer service and help build customer loyalty.

Required qualities:

  • Autonomy.
    Sense of organization, management of priorities.
    Willingness to learn.
    The ability to work in a team.
    Good ability to work with computer tools.
    Good mechanical understanding, is an asset.

Customer Service Technician / Mechanic

Cardinal Equipments is looking for a Customer Service Technician / Mechanic.

The person sought will diagnose mechanical and / or technical problems with the customer’s equipment and will be in charge of repairs. This person works in the factory and on the road.

Tasks and responsibilities

The principale tasks are :

  • Install, inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components of customer equipment.
  • Respond to customer’s mechanical and / or technical questions in person or remotely via phone / email.
  • Train operators to operate the equipment.

Training and / or knowledge required

  • Vocational studies diploma in stationary machine mechanics and / or heavy vehicle mechanics and / or electromechanics and / or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams as well as welding.
  • Knowledge of the sawmill industry (an asset).
  • Knowledge of written and spoken english (an asset)

  • Mechanical engineering degree or a DEP in Industrial design or relevant experience.
  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics and control.
  • Design experience with Solid Work
  • Knowledge of the sawmill industry (an asset).
