MACHINIST (conventional and digitally controlled)-ANGLIERS (QC)

Position objective

Manufacture parts for factory-manufactured equipment and, when required, for direct sale to customers.

Give a professional image of the company by manufacturing precise and highly durable parts.

Tasks and responsibilities

The main tasks are :

  • Read and understand plans
  • Requisition the materials needed to produce the requested parts
  • Operate the various machine tools: lathe; grinding machine (milling); boring mill; drill ; groomer
  • Operate the various machining tools: the plasma cutting table; the digital machining center
  • Carry out regular maintenance of the equipment used
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy

Required qualities

  • Thoroughness and precision (be attentive and manufacture the parts as requested on the plans)
  • Flexibility (execute tasks requested by his superior)
  • Ease of learning (operating new machines or applying new working methods)
  • Good physical condition
  • Respectful of occupational health and safety rules
  • Team spirit (cooperate and help fellow workers)

Required training and/or knowledge

  • D.E.P. in Machining
    OR
  • Recognition of equivalence may be granted to a person who has received training in a company and acquired a few years of experience in operating machine tools used by Cardinal.

HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC-PORT PERRY (ON)

Position objective :

The Heavy Duty Mechanic, is responsible to fulfill a variety of service roles: repair and maintenance on all makes and models of equipment; including rebuilds, overhauls, PDIs, breakdown repairs, component change outs, technical diagnosis and troubleshoot in both field and shop environments

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Inspect machines to decelerate failures and determine their nature;
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace faulty components;
  • Make sure the repaired item works well;
  • Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance of machinery;
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times;
  • Perform other duties related to his position.

 

Professional knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • Full class G driver’s license; drivers abstract required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Autonomy;
  • Sense of organization, priorities management;
  • Professionalism and ability to communicate with customers;
  • Ability to work in team;
  • Ability to work with computer tools;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Product knowledge, an asset.

Assistant Painter

Objectif du poste :

The assistant painter participates in the last step prior to delivery of the equipment to the customer. In fact, it is the assistant painter and the industrial painter who bring the final touch to give color, appearance and protection to the products sold!

Main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Clean and prepare surfaces: removal of certain non-structural components of equipment, cleaning with sandblasting if necessary, masking of certain surfaces to be protected during paint application.
  • Preparing the paints: using measuring equipment such as viscosity cups and gloss gauges to check the paint composition, making the right mixtures.
  • Apply the paint: use of spraying equipment with or without air, electrostatic or even rollers or brushes, application of primer coats, pre-finishes and finishing coats.
  • Inspect and verify the quality of the paint and make any necessary touch-ups.
  • Clean and maintain the equipment and work areas.

Required qualities:

  • Manual dexterity to effectively operate sandblasting and painting tools and equipment.
  • Good physical ability.
  • Thoughtful/good understanding of how paint reacts to surfaces most commonly found in manufacturing.
  • Attention to detail with the aim of producing quality and aesthetic paintings.
  • Compliance with health and safety rules.
  • Team player (cooperates and helps his fellow workers).

Training and/or knowledge required:

  • D.V.S or S.T.C in industrial painting

  • Recognition of equivalence can be granted to a person who has received training in a company and acquired a few years of experience in painting.

Foreman

Position objective :

Support the plant manager in his duties and supervise plant employees.

Main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Ensure that each worker is assigned a task and advise factory staff in the performance of their tasks;
  • Ensure discipline, respect for instructions and respect for safety standards;
  • Ensure conformity between the plans and the equipment.
  • Ensure the quality of the components when they leave the factory (painting, assembly, finishing, endurance);
  • Check with engineering when dimensions are missing;
  • Greet customers who need small quotes;
  • Help the estimator in charge, with the development of prices for more complex submissions;
  • Assist the CWB supervisor in his duties;
  • Ensure the factory and yard is kept clean;
  • Monitor the maintenance of plant equipment;
  • Make recommendations on improvements to the plant and its equipment;
  • Establish better working methods.
